Dance Manhattan seeks motivated, career-oriented professional to join our management team. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Special events coordination; co-management of reception staff; ?closing? studio and shift accounting (credit card/cash/check reconciliation); internet research; research and management of marketing/advertising opportunities; review and respond to all daily emails; update and maintain website; tele/email marketing as needed.
This is a full time position with hours from afternoon thru evening (with some closings required) and may require some weekend hours for emergencies or special events.

Must be a self-starter, internet savvy; possess excellent people, management and customer service skills.
Willing to commit with a focus on long?term career opportunities.
Necessary/Helpful Skills: Word, email/internet, printshop, pagemaker, indesign/illustrator, photoshop and excel.

ABOUT DANCE MANHATTAN
Dance Manhattan is considered to be one of the top social dance schools in New York City. We opened for business in 1992 and have developed one of the largest dance programs in the city- we are the most comprehensive in Argentine Tango, one of the largest in Swing and Salsa, and have a smaller (but still stellar) ballroom program. We offer over 80 group classes per week (and lots of workshops and dances) in a space encompassing 14,000 square feet and featuring a beautiful 4800 square foot ballroom. This full time Admin/Studio Manager position requires a 40+ hour/week work commitment Monday-Friday, with some late nights (for example, 2pm-10:30pm, some days earlier, some later; somedays a little more, some a little less) and one very late night. There will be some weekend work in emergency situations and/or for special events (particularly in the summer). We will start this position out at $13 (although, we could be little flexible based on experience) with a three month probationary period. Assuming a satisfactory 3 month training period, we would expect to raise it to $15/hour thereafter. Payroll is done twice a month, with direct deposit available.

Worthy of note regarding the position are:
-- Availability of Health Plan with a $100/month contribution from Dance Manhattan to start
-- Time and a half overtime for hours exceeding 45/week
-- We are open most holidays, but are always closed on 4th of July, Thanksgiving and the following weekend, and between Christmas and New Year (although there are some work hours usually required during this end-of-year period).
