The Washington DC Salsa on 2 (Mambo) Dance Meeting

Dance-&-Learn Parties include beginner mini-classes in all of the social dance styles of Ballroom, Salsa & Rueda, Brazilian Samba, Swing, Disco/Hustle, C/W, the social Latin dances and more, plus beg & intermed Argentine Tango classes in the 2nd studio from 9-9:45pm followed by an Argentine Tango beg/intermed milonga in studio B.

Dance-&-Learn Parties start at 7pm during Sat events for those wanting the beg classes. The Tango classes and beg/intermed Tango milonga continue in the 2nd studio at 9pm while Ballroom, Latin & Swing dancing & mini-classes take place in studio A. Starting time is 8pm on Holidays and on Fri, Dec 7.

(2) Sun, Dec 9th, Special SAOCO DC annual Holiday and year-end party, including workshops in Beg & Intermed Rueda at 5pm, plus at 6pm; Rueda Group patterns, Salsa on 1 (two levels at once) and Salsa on 2, New York Style Mambo (2 levels at once), followed at 7pm by open Salsa & Latin dancing in studio A and Argentine Tango classes and dancing in studio B (until the cows come home).

Format for the Chevy Chase Ballroom non-holiday dance parties:

7:00pm Beg mini-classes and dancing in the Ballroom, Latin & Swing dances followed by Ballroom, Latin, Salsa & Swing dance music with teacher assistance until 11:30pm. Plus "Dancing with the DC Stars" mini-dance competitions open to everyone (winners are chosen by audience applause, so invite your most loud and obnoxious friends)

9pm-9:30pm Beg and intermed Argentine Tango mini-classes in 2nd studio taught by Terry Chasteen (beg) and a 2nd teacher (intermed) & an Argentine Tango beg/intermed milonga with teacher assistance from 9:30pm.
