Steve Bishop, Director of Development for Carolina Ballet, will provide behind the scenes details for the world premiere of Artistic Director, Robert Weiss' Beauty and the Beast. With an original score by Karl Moraski (Cinderella), costume designs by David Heuvel (Swan Lake, Cinderella, Firebird and The Gardens at Giverny), and scenery by Jeff A. R. Jones (Nutcracker, Swan Lake), this fairy tale can be enjoyed by people of all ages. An additional treat is Attila Bongar's choreography of the exotic bird section of Beauty and the Beast. What? Didn't know about the exotic birds? There are many more surprises in store, so come hear about them all. Tickets for performance can be purchased through Carolina Ballet's Box office: 719-0900.

Special Notes:
Meet in the lounge/bar areas at 5:45.
Ballet presentation by Steve Bishop begins at 6:00.
There is a prix fixed three course "Ballet" dinner available but you may order off the menu.
To expedite dinner and to insure arriving at the theater on time, please be aware that the Tuscan Grill will serve each course only when all patrons have completed each course;
checks will be presented following the main course rather than following dessert; you are encouraged to order your cocktails in the bar and bring to the table (additional drinks may be ordered at the table.)

Hope to see you there! Susan

       Steve's comments were very entertaining for the group. Food was good as usual.

       Really had a good time - lots of good people to talk to and of course, really enjoyed Steve Bishop's discussion of the performance and the pointe shoe trivia quiz contest. Enjoyed by all. Thanks also to Joan Caviness and her assistant for keeping things lively and making sure everybody was introduced.
    • Sallie Abbas (+1 guest)
       Steve Bishop gave such an interesting and informative talk about ballet shoes, and the two ballets being presented for this performance. Very congenial group of diners, too.
