WORKSHOP UPDATE: The time has changed to 7pm – 8pm. This FREE workshop is open to ALL the members of NYC Dance Meetup Group.

If you are considering participation in this event, You need to register for the event on the event board. [ Hip Hop Workshop] I will post the exact floor and studio as soon as possible.

It is important that you RSVP so Jessica and I can plan accordingly. PLEASE RSVP ‘Yes’, ‘No’ or ‘Maybe’. I am encouraging everyone to RSVP by this weekend.

Dance just like your favorite Music Video. During this 1 hour workshop [7:00 pm - 8:00 pm] you will learn a short combo from a popular music video. All levels of experience welcome. Beginners are encouraged to attend. Come have fun and learn to dance like on MTV. Space is limited so RSVP soon!

This workshop will be run similar to a dance class... a relaxed dance class. There will be a short warm up and then we will learn basic moves to use on any dance floor...like at a club etc. Then onto the short combo. It will be fun and relaxed. Near the end of class we will "perform" the routine for each other. Please RSVP on Dance MEETUP… ASAP so Jessica can plan accordingly.

Everyone should come dressed comfortably. Clothes you wouldn't mind sweating in. Sneakers, no dress shoes.


Jessica is a Hip Hop Dancer and a member of Dance Meetup. She has generously offered her time, energy, and knowledge to host a hip hop workshop for us. I hope we have a BIG turnout. I especially encourage those who are not familiar with hip hip, or those who would like to explore a little bit, to come to this workshop. I encourage everyone; dancers and dance fans, to come out and have some fun.

      “ Hello all NYC Dance Meetup members, On Thursday, April 21, 2005, the New York City Dance Meetup group held its second dance workshop. Jessica created a Hip Hop dance workshop just for our group. WOW… were we lucky to have such a munificent volunteer and an even more incredible teacher! Terpsichore was definitely looking out for us when Jessica volunteered for this project! Jessica came out and taught members of the NYC Dance Meetup fundamental movements and dance sequences. The members who attended were of ALL dance backgrounds, so it was a fun experience learning together. Jessica was MORE than generous in the giving of her time and energy by creating this class.
